It reminds me of when I worked for the Texas Highway
Department. They turned on the heat on October
1st, even if the temperature outside was over 90
degrees ... which it often was in early October
in Texas, and made it a serious offense to open
the windows ... and they turned it off on the
first of March, which was the second coldest
month of the year. Sometimes the fruit trees
were in bloom on Christmas Day, but we got snow
in February and March. That made no difference.
It was Departmental Policy.
