Where the Pigs Scratched Themselves

(thread about Vuescan and OCR)

Yes, it is, but I must be doing something wrong because I get nice editable text as if done by a foreign language stenographer.

Kind of reminds me of the time my boss had me dictate a magazine article to his highly paid Gregg Shorthand trained secretary. It was about the first commercial oil well ever drilled, over in East Texas, fifty years before and a hundred miles west of Spindletop. A settler living in the Piney woods had discovered an oil seep while out looking for his pigs, by noticing that there was a lot of asphalt on the tree trunks where they had scratched their backs. So I dictated that he realized the pigs had gotten into a natural oil seep, "... for low on the tree trunks he noticed black asphalt where the pigs had scratched themselves."

When the secretary typed it up, it read: "For Lo! On the tree trunks he noticed black ass fart where the pigs had scratched themselves."

It took me most of the rest of the day to quit bursting into laughter.
