Boy Scouts
(Thread: Tired of hearing that software is a replacement for skill sets hard-earned.)
I feel much the same, but everything is going that way. I used to
have a Boy Scout Handbook I got when I was 12 years old that had
actual first aid in it, a formula for washing ashes or dirt out of
somebody's eyes (just make a mild solution of salt in water and dip a
rag or piece of cotton wadding in it, roll the eyelid up on a match
and gently swab it out ), how to set a broken arm or leg, how to make
biscuits with flour, bacon grease and baking soda, which you can
also brush your teeth with, how to build a rain proof shelter by
using the curved sections of the bark from a dead tree as roof tiles,
and a whole lot of other good stuff.
I mentioned one time how I wish I still had it, so my wife bought me
a new one for my birthday. Most of that stuff isn't in it anymore.
But then, I remember when I used to build websites with PageSpinner
1.0 ... they weren't too bad, either. Simple, but nice. Then came
Pagemill, and soon after hmmm ..... I just looked to see what my
rickety old art site was done with:
