Snuff and stuff
Kind of reminds me of Garrett Snuff. It came in little brown
bottles. These bottles were made in machines that marked the bottom
with little dots so that if anybody ever needed to know which machine
had made a particular bottle, you could just turn it upside down and
see.
But people used to come into the store where I worked on Saturday,
and ask for "Two Dot" or "Three Dot" Garrett Snuff. It was exactly
the same snuff, but they swore the Three Dot was stronger, and the
Two Dot was mild. We had a hard time selling "One Dot" snuff. Sissy
snuff.
